The European Academy of Optometry and Optics (EAOO) is excited to announce EAOO 2025, themed “Innovative Eye Care for Life”, taking place from 16th to 18th May 2025 at Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This event, hosted by DOOS – Optical Association of Slovenia, will bring together leading global experts to explore groundbreaking research, technological advancements, and innovative solutions that are shaping the future of eye care for people of all ages.
With an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers, the conference promises to offer cutting-edge insights into the future of optometry. We are proud to introduce two renowned professionals whose presentations will serve as major highlights of the event.
Keynote Speakers:
Prof. Dr. med. Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Hans-Jürgen Grein
Technical University of Applied Sciences Luebeck, Germany
Division of Medical Optics
Prof. Dr. Grein is a leading authority in ophthalmic optics, with a distinguished career in medical optics and optometry. His keynote presentation, titled “Modern Refraction Testing: Trends and Innovations”, will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in refraction testing. As artificial intelligence and digital transformation continue to penetrate the field, Prof. Dr. Grein will discuss the potential replacement of traditional refraction methods and explore innovative technologies poised to revolutionize optometry.
Jennifer S. Simonson, OD, FOVDR, FAAO
Clinical Director, Boulder Valley Vision Center, Boulder, CO
Dr. Jennifer S. Simonson, a renowned expert in pediatric vision care and binocular vision, will deliver her keynote presentation titled “See to Achieve: Vision is More than Sight”. She will discuss a multidisciplinary approach to binocular vision examination, offering practical insights into identifying anomalies and treatment options. Her talk will highlight how visual perception, processing, and integration impact overall visual performance and comfort.
In addition to her keynote address, Dr. Simonson will lead an interactive workshop on the principles of binocular vision, where participants will engage with real-world case studies and collaborate to apply their learning in a hands-on environment.
We would also like to remind all participants that the abstract submission deadline is 3rd November 2024.
