What is Fellowship?
The Academy’s Fellowship program honors individual EAOO members who have made significant contributions to optometry, optics, or vision science at local, national, and/or international levels. Fellowship is awarded to those who demonstrate excellence and/or innovation in one or more categories, and it stands as a prestigious mark of achievement that all Academy members can aspire to.

To apply for Fellowship, you must be a member of the Academy for at least one year before the Fellowship interview. The application process is designed to be supportive and includes submitting a portfolio of evidence showcasing your past and/or current achievements. The goal is to enable members from diverse backgrounds to be recognized by their peers.

Upon becoming a Fellow, you can use the letters FEAOO after your name, and you’ll be expected to be an active member and ambassador for the Academy.

To be eligible, you must have been an Individual Academy member for at least one year prior to applying.
